17 Jul Nibs in Newport: Modern Calligraphy Intro Class – Rhode Island
Last week we were on the road once again for what felt like a mid week mini vacation to teach our intro to Modern Calligraphy class at Styled By Jenna in the historic district of Newport, Rhode Island. We dodged all traffic and thunderstorms and were able to catch some rays and enjoy a glass of rosè right over the water with the best seats in the house at The Lobster Bar. We followed up with crushing an impressive amount of guac at Diego‘s before heading over to meet Jenna! Come to find out, our rolling calligraphy storage cases are champs over cobblestones.
Jenna’s shop has the most darling curation of home decor items and gifts. Rustic Waco-worthy decor meets seaside kitchenware, candles and florals for a french country feel. I’ve had her “french cooking” spotify playlist on repeat ever since we left, as well as burning through the Blue Anchor candle in the scent “Sandalwood” we both could not leave the shop without! Speaking of shopping, large oversized rustic clocks are totally biz write-offs, right?
The crew of ladies who joined us for this intro to Modern Calligraphy class were all so sweet and talented. From shop owners and brides to watercolor artists, it was a full house of passionate and creative company! We already can’t wait to plan our next (hopefully longer) Newport adventure.
