I have quite literally always been the "friend with the pretty handwriting." I first got involved in traditional calligraphy my freshman year of high school when I took calligraphy as an elective course. I loved the look, the feel, even the smell of the ink. Fast forward to my college years at UNH and I was always decorating my dorm room door, dorm room itself, and my desk with hand lettered everything, for every major holiday and event.
Leading up to our wedding in 2016, I reignited my creative flame. I wanted splashes of hand lettering at every corner. As the pieces came together, so did Grady Letters. If I could create for our perfect day, why couldn't I create for others? My husband and I decided to team up and add a custom craftsmanship component to our side hustle. We still create custom pieces for clients, and I've taken on a large majority of the creative content we produce. I am a Sip and Script graduate after attending a class in May 2018 in Portsmouth. While I love working with different textures, traditional calligraphy will always be the root that grounds the foundation of our business.
I'm obsessed with all things Disney, binge watch every home renovation show on HGTV, and spend my free time snuggling our fur babies. My dream home has a wood burning fireplace, hidden pocket doors, a luxurious master bathroom and a kitchen that looks like it's out of a magazine. I'm a full-time certified athletic trainer, working in outpatient orthopedics. I love all things weddings and events, and I think the consultation/getting-to-know our clients phase is my favorite part. Bonus points if there's a Pinterest board! I love to read, but never have time, and I'll never pass up the opportunity to catch a hockey game.
