Hi there! I’m Katie Mason. Originally an East-Coaster, I’ve lived in the beautiful Pacific Northwest for the last 4 years, specifically the coastal town of Edmonds, WA, which is about 20 min north of Seattle! I work full-time as a healthcare provider, and art is my outlet.

As a self-described “Hobby Queen”, I can guarantee I’ve tried just about every creative hobby that exists, but lettering and calligraphy are what I always come back to. I love finding new ways to incorporate my lettering into other creative projects, whether it be painting, card-making, or embroidery. Other ways I’ve utilized my professional calligraphy skills are: wedding signs, envelopes, card making, pumpkins, ornaments, styled shoots, live engraving events, among others! I’ve even dabbled in wedding invitation design and paper making! (Basically, no smooth surface is safe around me) :)

My absolute favorite thing about calligraphy is the intrinsic meditative quality it has; in order to be successful you really have to slow down, focus, and breathe through each stroke, which is truly a skill in and of itself when we are programmed to be as productive as possible. A personal mantra of mine is to always be a student, never stop learning and growing, and quality over quantity!
