Join us from home and tune in to our virtual calligraphy cartouche flourishing class! Learn a gorgeous new way to elevate your calligraphy to the next level and get ready to write pretty things from your kitchen table, sweats and wine welcome!

What even IS a cartouche? This online workshop will introduce you to this element of decorative pointed pen calligraphy. We will cover all the basics of cartouche embellishments and get you ready to add this beautiful practice to your calligraphy work. Whether you are an established calligrapher already or a lettering newbie interested in advancing your practice this class is for you!

Class includes 60 minutes of live instruction via Zoom for cartouche embellishments and an open discussion lead by our Florida based instructor. Class will include warm up drills, a brief overview of some flourishing principles, and step by step instruction for creating beautiful cartouches. You do not need to have taken any class other than our beginner modern calligraphy class to enjoy learning this new skill.

You will leave class with the confidence to bring flourished cartouches to your holiday gifts or snail mail envelopes, place cards, and any other piece that needs a special touch!

You will receive an email before class with a 3 page guide to follow along during class. Feel free to print out or download to use via iPad. Pencil and paper are all you need to join in! You are welcome to use brush pens or dip pens as well.

*Basic knowledge of pressure based writing is required to join.
