Intermediate Calligraphy at Magic Tea Town ‘N Country

Join Sip & ScriptⓇ at Magic Tea in Town ‘N Country for round two of boba and calligraphy, just in time for the holidays!

If you’ve been waiting since your beginner class for the next step, this will be a perfect way to take it to the next level. In this workshop, you’ll be introduced to modern calligraphy BEYOND the basic strokes and letterforms. We will cover flourished letterforms and how to lay out your paper behind the scenes so that your calligraphy looks flawless. This is also a great opportunity for some personalized help troubleshooting any issues that have come up in your practice, even if you haven’t used your kit every day (or week or even month!) since you started learning. As long as you already know how to use a pointed nib and put together the basic strokes, we promise you’re ready for this artsy afternoon!

Class includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration, an intermediate calligraphy kit (two NEW nibs, colorful ink pot, flourishing guides, tracing paper, and straight pen holder), and all materials to write on. Everything is yours to keep at the end of the workshop!

Feel free to come early, grab your seat, and purchase any food or drinks (food and drinks are available to purchase throughout the class, too!). Class will start promptly at 1 PM!

Class Expectations: Of course, lefties are always welcome! This class is encouraged for someone who HAS taken a pointed pen calligraphy class before, even if it wasn’t with us. We expect you to already know the basics and our expectation for you is to have ink flowing through your nib right from the get go! We will still use tracing paper to warm up and then we will move on to understanding and using blank guides.

A note on bringing guests 16 and under: We love to share this passion with kids. You are welcome to get a ticket for your child if you are comfortable with their responsible use of an ink pot. We ask that a ticketed adult accompany anyone under the age of 16 at all times.
