Hi friends! I’m Patricia, Calligrapher of Thistle Scribbles, born and raised in the beautiful Philippines but now based in Forest Hills, NY. I started “teaching” calligraphy in college mid 90’s when my classmates asked me to create my Calligraphy Alphabet on a piece of paper so they can practice their drills under my supervision because they wanted to “write like me!”

In 2016, I started my Etsy Calligraphy Shop while being a full time mom to my 3rd child. I went to Michael’s to buy cardstock, metallic Sharpies, calligraphy ink and pen and a paper cutter. Created sample place cards, posted them to my shop and boom! Since then, I have created thousands and thousands of custom pieces from wedding parties, to baby showers, bat mitzvahs, to restaurant menus and many more until pandemic started in 2020.

Today, I am mostly doing freelance work as a Live Event Artist for Devitdian Arts. I engrave and paint bottles of perfumes for different designer and luxury brands at Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, etc.

I am so excited to be a part of the Sip and Script Squad as your new Calligraphy Instructor! We are going to have so much fun in class!
