Hi, my name is Meg DeWitt, and I live in Boston, MA. A fun fact about me- I love spending time in nature! Whether it’s hiking in the mountains, swimming in a lake in Maine, or sailing on Boston Harbor, being outdoors always brings me joy. I’m also an avid reader and love gathering with my book club to discuss our latest picks. I’m passionate about yoga and meditation for their calming and grounding effects, and I’ve found that calligraphy offers the same sense of mindfulness. Each stroke brings focus, creativity, and a peaceful flow to my day. I love finding ways to incorporate calligraphy into everyday life—from thank-you notes and holiday cards (Galentine’s Day, anyone?) to personalized bookmarks and gifts. Of course, special occasions call for extra elegance, and I’m always honored to contribute, whether it’s through envelope addressing, signage, or individualized place cards that add a personal touch. Beyond creating beautiful pieces, I find so much joy in teaching and sharing the art of calligraphy. There’s nothing more rewarding than introducing lettering to new groups, sharing my excitement, and connecting with amazing learners. My passion for calligraphy started while brainstorming for my sister’s wedding- she admired the beautiful hand lettering, and I decided to teach myself. What started as a creative challenge quickly became something I couldn’t put down.
