Chelsea grew up in the mountains of East Tennessee with her parents. Her passion for fine art started early and grew into a love for graphic design by the time she graduated high school. She attended the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and earned her BFA in Graphic Design in 2010. There she met her future husband, Colby, and fell in love with Savannah, Georgia in the process.
Chelsea started Cake Paperie in 2012 while living in Greenville, South Carolina and planning her own wedding. She discovered a love for letterpress and purchased her own within the first year. That same letterpress made the move back to Savannah, Georgia in 2014 and still creates heirloom invitations for her current clientele. Not long after her son was born in 2015, Chelsea felt a call to calligraphy and began teaching herself. Today, calligraphy makes up the majority of her workload and she couldn't be happier to be fulfilling her childhood dream of becoming an artist.
When she isn't creating (and sometimes when she is), you can find Chelsea spending time with her children, Grey and Cleo. She loves exploring antique shops with her husband, Colby, working out, flavored coffee, singing, and playing the guitar. Neutrals are her favorite colors and The Bachelor is her guilty pleasure. You can find her most recent work on her Instagram: @cake.paperie and past projects on her website: www.designissweet.com.
