Pumpkins & Perfume: Beginners Modern Calligraphy & Pumpkin Lettering at Cabernet Candles

Join Sip & Script for an Afternoon of Perfume, Pumpkins & Pretty Calligraphy!

Join us at Cabernet Candles in New Castle, Delaware for a festive workshop of fall fun and pretty lettering for beginners! Whether you’re a stationery nerd, DIY Bride-to-be, or just a crafty individual, in this workshop you’ll be learning an introduction to modern calligraphy with a pointed dip pen and ink. We will cover all the basics and get you ready to add those special lettered details to all your autumnal spreads – think lettered pumpkins at your front door, on your bar cart, as a fall party hostess gift or special occasion gift! Also imagine partnering your new beautiful hobby with fall scents.

Class includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration, our beginner’s calligraphy kit (two nibs, black ink pot, 2 letter guides, tracing paper and straight pen holder), and all materials to write on. Everything is yours to keep at the end of the workshop! Additionally, you get to craft a perfume and we will be lettering on faux pumpkins at the end of our class time!

Mocktail & Perfume making included. Guests can make and take their own custom scent, and test their calligraphy by customizing their bottle. Guests can add soy wax candle making for $30, Grab that HERE. Guests are also welcome to shop candles, bath, and body products.

Class Expectations: Yes, lefties are welcome too! This class is encouraged for someone who has never taken a calligraphy class before. We teach the basics and our expectation for you is to have ink flowing through your nib with enough confidence to be able to practice way beyond class. We love using tracing paper with our guides to help you build muscle memory and develop your own style!  If you have tried calligraphy out before, this class will be a great refresher and hopefully a chance to try some new supplies from our beginner kit that will re-introduce you to this lovely form of art!

A note on bringing guests 16 and under: We love to share this passion with kids. You are welcome to get a ticket for your child as long as you are comfortable with people around them having a drink or two. We do ask that anyone under the age of 16 is to be accompanied by a ticketed adult at all times.
