Modern Calligraphy for Beginners: Girls on the Run Themed Class at Hudco!

To our wonderful Hudson Valley GOTR Community & Friends. Anyone is welcome!

Join us at Hudco co-working space in Dobbs Ferry, NY for a fun GOTR~themed workshop of pretty lettering!  If we can run together, we’re confident we can learn a new hobby together and have fun doing it! YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A RUNNER TO ATTEND. Whether you’re a crafty individual or just want to hang out, chat and support this unique GOTR fundraiser, in this workshop you’ll be learning an introduction to modern calligraphy with a pointed dip pen and ink + felt tip markers. We will cover all the basics and prepare you to add those unique lettered details to your snail mail or holiday place cards and more!

We will provide the Food & Beverages for the evening to enjoy while you write.

Class includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration, our beginner’s calligraphy kit (two nibs, black ink pot, 2 letter guides, tracing paper, and straight pen holder), and all materials to write on. Everything is yours to keep at the end of the workshop! Custom calligraphy for each person at the end of class by your instructor, Love Jenna Calligraphy. Think about a word or phrase that motivates you & watch her write it~you’ll be amazed! By participating in this event, a portion of your ticket sale will help support program scholarships, particularly to underserved communities across the Hudson Valley.

Feel free to come 15 minutes early and grab your seat. Class will start promptly at 7:00 PM.

Class Expectations: Yes, lefties are welcome too! This class is encouraged for someone who has never taken a calligraphy class before. We teach the basics, and our expectation for you is to have ink flowing through your nib with enough confidence to be able to practice way beyond class. We love using tracing paper with our guides to help you build muscle memory and develop your own style!  If you have tried calligraphy out before, this class will be a great refresher and hopefully a chance to try some new supplies from our beginner kit that will reintroduce you to this lovely form of art!
