Modern Calligraphy – STEP 2 & Envelope Addressing @ Pelican Post & Paperie

Join us for a morning of intermediate-level calligraphy at Pelican Post & Paperie in Austin, Texas! Whether you’re a stationery nerd, DIY Bride-to-be, or just a crafty individual, in this workshop, we will be taking a deeper dive into the basics of calligraphy we teach in our beginner classes if you’ve taken a class of ours before this is the perfect “next steps” kind of class! You only need to bring your calligraphy pen and nib from your intro class!

*It is strongly suggested that you take a beginner modern calligraphy class before participating in this workshop. You will need a basic understanding of writing with a pen and nib to take this class. As long as you have taken our beginner class, you are good to go!*

If you loved our beginner class, you will love this next step in developing your confidence to wow all your friends this year with cards, envelopes, gift tags, and more! During this class, you will learn new basic drills to help you level up your calligraphy, mixing your own colored ink, the fundamentals of lettering design, and basic flourishing composition.

Class includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration, our intermediate calligraphy kit (a pen, a new nib, connecting letters worksheets, tracing paper, and an ink pot of colored calligraphy ink). Everything is yours to keep at the end of the class! Additionally, we will be learning the best tips and tricks for envelope lettering at the end of our class time!

Class will be held outdoors at a large picnic table with umbrella coverage OR inside of Pelican Post & Paperie’s Airstream Trailer (depending on weather). Class will start promptly at 10:00 AM CT! Feel free to park your car in SpyCloud’s parking lot next door! After class, check out the lovely stationery and supplies that Pelican Post & Paperie has available within their vintage Airstream Trailer / mobile boutique! They will be offering a 20% discount on all in-boutique purchases that day for class participants!

A note on bringing guests 16 and under: We love to share this passion with kids. You are welcome to get a ticket for your child if you are comfortable with people around them having a drink or two. We ask that a ticketed adult accompany anyone under 16 at all times.
