Join Sip & Script® for a Night of Learning Calligraphy!

Join us as at LauderAle Brewery in Fort Lauderdale, FL for a night of pints and pretty lettering! Whether you’re a stationery nerd, DIY Bride-to-be, or just a crafty individual, in this workshop you’ll be learning an introduction to modern calligraphy with a pointed dip pen and ink. We will cover all the basics and get you ready to add those special lettered details to your snail mail, wedding paper goods, home decor and more! The perfect crafty night out!

With your ticket, LauderAle is including a beverage of your choice from the selection of the $5 Core beers Happy Hour.

Below are the descriptions for each beer:

Conniption – German Kolsch – ABV 5% – Light, malty, and crisp, this is as close to a German Kolsch you’ll get outside of Cologne, Germany. Easy drinking and refreshing, slight sweetness with a mild bitterness on the finish.

Monkey Road Red – Hoppy Red Ale – ABV 6% – In this hop-forward twist on the classic amber ale, we utilize a heavy dry hop with Simcoe hops to bring about a balancing layer of complexity. Malts meet hops in a symbiosis of character that includes passion fruit, pine sap, grapefruit pith, toasted grain, caramel sweetness, and floral resin. A semi-dry finish with lasting bitterness have this drinking like an India Amber Ale.

C Porter – Coconut Porter – ABV 6.2% – The C Porter is our Port Everglades Porter aged with coconut in an attempt to concoct a Caribbean inspired dark ale. Some say this beer is reminiscent of a Mounds bar in a glass. Notes of sweet coconut, milk chocolate, and subtle roast lace the air while caramel, coconut, nutty esters, and milk chocolate hit the palate.

Lunch Money – New England Pale Ale – ABV 5% – New England style hazy pale ale with sweet citrus, tangerine, grapefruit, and delicate herbal notes that packs a pillowy body with low bitterness and a round, sudsy finish.

More Class details:

Class includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration, our beginner’s calligraphy kit (two nibs, black ink pot, 2 letter guides, tracing paper and straight pen holder), and all materials to write on. Everything is yours to keep at the end of the night!

Feel free to come early to check in, grab your seat, and order any food/ drinks. Bring your own food or indulge at the food truck at the brewery. (food and drinks available to order throughout class too!). Class will start promptly at 6pm!)

Class Expectations: This class is encouraged for someone who has never taken a calligraphy class before. We teach the basics and our expectation for you is to have ink flowing through your nib with enough confidence to be able to practice way beyond class. We love using tracing paper with our guides to help you build muscle memory and develop your own style!  If you have tried calligraphy out before, this class will be a great refresher and hopefully a chance to try some new supplies from our beginner kit that will re-introduce you to this lovely form of art!
