Brush Lettering for Beginners at Good Crowd

Join Sip & Script^® for an Afternoon of Learning Calligraphy!

Join us at Good Crowd in Orlando, Florida, for a workshop of pretty brush lettering! If you’ve always admired beautiful stationery, handwritten signage used at weddings or in home decor, or just love all hand-lettered crafts, this workshop will leave you feeling confident implementing this art form into your events or everyday life! It’s the perfect crafty workshop for the New Year—New Year, New Hobby!

Class includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration, our beginner’s brush lettering kit (watercolor paper, tracing paper, our Brush Lettering Guides Bundle, a Tombow Brush Marker, a round paintbrush, an inkpot pre-filled with gouache, and a pipette), and all materials to write on. Everything is yours to keep at the end of the workshop! Additionally, inspired by the Word of the Year theme, we’ll end class by creating a beautifully lettered keepsake featuring your chosen word—a mini disco ball perfect for motivating your goals or vision for 2026!

Feel free to come early to shop the boutique and grab your seat. A soft drink and sweet treat will be provided. You’re also welcome to BYOB, or you can purchase wine in the store to enjoy onsite.

The class will start promptly at 11:30 AM! There is free street parking available. You can also use the parking lot at the corner of Edgewater and Clayton — just park in any unmarked spot.

Class Expectations: Yes, lefties are welcome too! This class is encouraged for someone who has never taken a calligraphy class before. We teach the basics and our expectation for you is to have ink flowing through your nib with enough confidence to be able to practice way beyond class. We love using tracing paper with our guides to help you build muscle memory and develop your own style! If you have tried calligraphy out before, this class will be a great refresher and hopefully a chance to try some new supplies from our beginner kit that will re-introduce you to this lovely form of art!

A note on bringing guests 16 and under: We love to share this passion with kids. You are welcome to get a ticket for your child as long as you are comfortable with people around them having a drink or two. We do ask that anyone under the age of 16 be accompanied by a ticketed adult at all times.
