Beginners Modern Calligraphy and PYO Winter Project at Haven Coworking

Join Sip & Script® for an Afternoon of Learning Calligraphy with a (PYO) Pick Your Own Winter Project!

Join us at Haven Coworking  in Towson, Maryland for a festive workshop of winter fun and pretty lettering for beginners! Whether you’re a stationery nerd, DIY Bride-to-be, or just a crafty individual, in this workshop you’ll be learning an introduction to modern calligraphy with a pointed dip pen and ink. We will cover all the basics and get you ready to add those special lettered details to all your winter or holiday-themed tables, hostess gifts, gift tags, holiday card mailings, and more!

Class includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration, our beginner’s calligraphy kit (two nibs, black ink pot, 2 letter guides, tracing paper, and straight pen holder), and all materials to write on. Everything is yours to keep at the end of the workshop! Additionally, PYO (Pick Your Own) Project! We will be lettering on one project of your choice: a take-home acrylic ornament, envelope, menu OR gift tag at the end of our class time!

Feel free to come early, grab your seat. You are welcome to tour the space. About the Space: This venue offers coworking memberships, private offices and meeting rooms that people can rent by the day/monthly. Thete is also a large event space for birthday parties, workshops, baby showers, and more. 

Food or Drinks: Guests are welcome to bring their own food and BYOB is allowed. The venue has a large refrigerator that patrons can use during the event. The class will start promptly at 1:30 PM! 

Recommended Parking:  Haven Coworking has 20 parking spots below the building that are always available on the weekends. For overflow parking, we recommend either street parking or the Washington Avenue garage which is only a few blocks away.

Be sure to arrive early to account for travel, parking, and seating!

Class Expectations: Yes, lefties are welcome too! This class is encouraged for someone who has never taken a calligraphy class before. We teach the basics and our expectation for you is to have ink flowing through your nib with enough confidence to be able to practice way beyond class. We love using tracing paper with our guides to help you build muscle memory and develop your own style! If you have tried calligraphy out before, this class will be a great refresher and hopefully a chance to try some new supplies from our beginner kit that will re-introduce you to this lovely form of art!

A note on bringing guests 16 and under: We love to share this passion with kids. You are welcome to get a ticket for your child as long as you are comfortable. We do ask that anyone under the age of 16 be accompanied by a ticketed adult at all times.
