Hello! I’m Karstyn, the owner and calligrapher of Scripting Events. Growing up, I always had a pen in hand, and EVERY paper surface I touched ended up covered in doodles or hand lettered words. Back in middle school, it was bubble letters + i’s dotted with hearts (lol), but I like to think I’ve refined my style to be more elegant adult-friendly these days. I guess all signs pointed to an eventual career in calligraphy! During college, I decided I wanted to work in Event Management--a choice that really stemmed from my love of weddings. Since then, I have worked as a bridal stylist, venue staff, wedding coordinator, and most recently, a wedding calligrapher! If I’m not busy with a pen in hand, I’m probably busy with a toddler instead. My husband and I live in Winston Salem with our son Lawson, and we love being a part of this amazing city! In my free time, you’ll either find me out shopping + thrifting, catching up on The Bachelorette, or picnicking on the lawn at Reynolda. I’m so excited to meet you during a calligraphy class!
