Join us for a festive intermediate-level calligraphy workshop full of Galentine’s fun and pretty lettering  at Holler Brewing in Houston, TX! Whether you’re a stationery nerd, DIY Bride-to-be, or just a crafty individual, in this workshop, we will be taking a deeper dive into the basics of calligraphy we teach in our beginner classes if you’ve taken a class of ours before this is the perfect “next steps” kind of class!

*It is strongly suggested that you take a beginner modern calligraphy class before participating in this workshop. You will need a basic understanding of writing with a pen and nib to take this class. As long as you have taken our beginner class, you are good to go!*

If you loved our beginner class, you will love this next step in developing your confidence to wow all your friends this year with cards, envelopes, gift tags, and more! During this class, you will learn new basic drills to help you level up your calligraphy, mix your own colored ink, the fundamentals of lettering design, and basic flourishing composition.

Class includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration, our intermediate calligraphy kit (a pen holder, 2 NEW nibs, a pot of colored calligraphy ink, letter breakdown and flourishing guides, and tracing paper). Everything is yours to keep at the end of the class!

Get your tickets below!

Feel free to come early, grab your seat, and purchase any food or drinks (food and drinks are available to purchase throughout the class, too!). Holler Brewing will have popcorn for sale inside, nitro cold brew coffee, house made root beer, and even non-alcoholic beer in addition to their beer on tap. You are also able to bring in your own food if you prefer! Class will start promptly at 7 PM! 

Class Expectations: Of course, lefties are always welcome! This class is encouraged for someone who HAS taken a pointed pen calligraphy class before, even if it wasn’t with us. We expect you to already know the basics and our expectation for you is to have ink flowing through your nib right from the get go! We will still use tracing paper to warm up and then we will move on to understanding and using blank guides.

A note on bringing guests 16 and under: We love to share this passion with kids. You are welcome to get a ticket for your child if you are comfortable with their responsible use of an ink pot and people around them having a drink or two. We ask that a ticketed adult accompany anyone under 16 at all times.
