Hi, I’m Macie! I grew up in a small town in southeast Georgia, where I learned that southern hospitality is not a choice. From traditional holiday dinners to church potluck to never showing up empty handed, I have always enjoyed the little details that truly make someone a “hostess with the mostest.” I purchased a beginner’s lettering kit for fun during graduate school, and I haven’t put down the pen since then. I love the way calligraphy makes guests feel special and adds a personal touch to any event, gift, tablescape, or handwritten letter.

What began in 2015 as a creative outlet has grown into a business that specializes in calligraphy and lettering on paper goods, mirrors, acrylic, and more. My business, Macie Kendall Co, started with a friend-of-a-friend’s wedding and quickly grew into a passion for helping brides, event planners, and party-lovin’ folks make guests feel special. The personal connections I have formed through my business remind me that life is a lot like learning calligraphy: slow down, take a deep breath, and have fun with it. By teaching calligraphy, I want to give others the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and show love and care with their creative talents.

When I’m not lettering—or working full-time at a tech company—I enjoy outdoor activities with my pup, exercising at the gym or catching a yoga class, gardening in my backyard, and trying new restaurants. I love Jesus, the Auburn Tigers, and a good glass of champagne. That southern hospitality also taught me this: “There are no strangers, just friends we haven’t met yet.” To my soon-to-be friends, I can’t wait to meet you in class or on the ‘gram. Cheers, y’all!
