This class is for anyone who's never picked up a pen. We teach the basics, and our hope is you leave with ink flowing through your nib and the confidence to keep practicing. Tried it before? It's a great refresher with new supplies from our beginner kit.

Left-handed? You're very welcome. This class is designed with lefties in mind — we teach you to get ink flowing through your nib with confidence, whatever hand you use.

All students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult to our classes.

PLEASE NOTE: Some of our classes are held at 21+ establishments, so please read the class description before purchasing.

We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes before the start time to settle in. Seating is first come, first served within the venue.

Hi! I'm Lisa, a modern calligrapher in the Columbus Ohio area. I'm so excited to be part of the Sip Squad, many of whom inspired me as I scrolled through social media during the lockdowns of 2020. I finally picked up my own pen in late 2021 as a therapeutic escape from the world's pandemic chaos. After a couple of years of practice, calligraphy expanded to hand engraving and, most recently, hot foiling. The impact of personalization was instilled in me at a young age by my Mom, who always had my name stamped or engraved on school supplies, notebooks, mugs and glassware, books and Bibles. It gave me a sense of my name being important! When I work with someone to personalize a gift, it not only helps them express their heart to the recipient, but it lets the recipient know how special they are to the giver. It's a win-win. When I don't have a pen or cup of coffee in my hand, I enjoy walking my three dogs, singing with my church's worship team, riding bikes or geocaching with my family, and watching the latest superhero or disaster movie.
