This class is for anyone who's never picked up a pen. We teach the basics, and our hope is you leave with ink flowing through your nib and the confidence to keep practicing. Tried it before? It's a great refresher with new supplies from our beginner kit.

Left-handed? You're very welcome. This class is designed with lefties in mind — we teach you to get ink flowing through your nib with confidence, whatever hand you use.

All students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult to our classes.

PLEASE NOTE: Some of our classes are held at 21+ establishments, so please read the class description before purchasing.

We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes before the start time to settle in. Seating is first come, first served within the venue.

Hello from Denver, Colorado! I'm Emily, owner and creator of Sparrow and Ink Designs, specializing in wedding work, handmade gifts, and custom wall art. I've always loved beautiful handwriting, and my official calligraphy journey began in 2017. Once I got started I was hooked for life! I dove deep into learning the traditional Copperplate style as well as modern calligraphy. I love how meditative and calming calligraphy can be -- and how you can turn an everyday piece of paper into a work of art. When I'm not creating, you can find me sipping coffee, reading, binging competition TV shows, practicing yoga, and spending time with my husband and dog, Bagel. I can't wait to see you in class!
