This class is for anyone who's never picked up a pen. We teach the basics, and our hope is you leave with ink flowing through your nib and the confidence to keep practicing. Tried it before? It's a great refresher with new supplies from our beginner kit.

Left-handed? You're very welcome. This class is designed with lefties in mind — we teach you to get ink flowing through your nib with confidence, whatever hand you use.

All students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult to our classes.

PLEASE NOTE: Some of our classes are held at 21+ establishments, so please read the class description before purchasing.

We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes before the start time to settle in. Seating is first come, first served within the venue.

Hi!! I am Carolyn and I am a traditional and modern calligrapher in Lincoln, California. I am delighted to be here with the Sip Squad to teach you the beautiful and meditative art of calligraphy (which means the art of drawing beautiful letters!)

For as long as I can remember I have been attracted to beautiful writing but it wasn't until I raised my family and retired from my real estate appraising business that I treated myself to learning it. I fell in love with this creative outlet and have been practicing and creating for over 5 years now. My creations include writing on magnolia leaves for a wedding, writing and engraving on wine bottles and numerous other glass surfaces, framed commissioned pieces, painting calligraphy on needlepoint canvases for clients, greeting cards and envelopes. The joy that my calligraphy gifts and letters have given so many has in turn given me so much joy and satisfaction in return.
