This class is for anyone who's never picked up a pen. We teach the basics, and our hope is you leave with ink flowing through your nib and the confidence to keep practicing. Tried it before? It's a great refresher with new supplies from our beginner kit.
Left-handed? You're very welcome. This class is designed with lefties in mind — we teach you to get ink flowing through your nib with confidence, whatever hand you use.
All students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult to our classes.
PLEASE NOTE: Some of our classes are held at 21+ establishments, so please read the class description before purchasing.
We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes before the start time to settle in. Seating is first come, first served within the venue.

Hello! My name is Bethany and I'm located in Charlotte, North Carolina. I've always loved being creative and the art of hand lettering, but became more serious about it in college as a way to decompress! I started creating hand lettered ornaments, graduation caps, wedding pieces, table cards, greeting cards, wall art, and painting murals. In 2022 I was hired as a resident artist for a local bakery in Florida to create their weekly hand lettered menus, and loved it! Incorporating calligraphy and brush lettering into my life when I moved to Charlotte in 2023 was very important to me. I am so excited to be part of the Sip and Script team, which combines my two favorite things- teaching and lettering! When I'm not making art you can find me reading, walking my adorable dog Goose, teaching fifth grade, or being outdoors with friends and family. I can't wait to create beautiful lettering with you soon!
