This class is for anyone who's never picked up a pen. We teach the basics, and our hope is you leave with ink flowing through your nib and the confidence to keep practicing. Tried it before? It's a great refresher with new supplies from our beginner kit.

Left-handed? You're very welcome. This class is designed with lefties in mind — we teach you to get ink flowing through your nib with confidence, whatever hand you use.

All students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult to our classes.

PLEASE NOTE: Some of our classes are held at 21+ establishments, so please read the class description before purchasing.

We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes before the start time to settle in. Seating is first come, first served within the venue.

Hi! My name is Magen Ferrer. I'm a full-time wife, stepmom of two, and new mama of one. I am a lover of all things pens, planners, and stationery-related. In addition to my full-time government job, I work it out with my lefty calligraphy skills on nights and weekends while sippin' a Coke and munching on chocolate!   I taught myself calligraphy back in 2016, and being a perfectionist with my handwriting since the time I could hold a pen definitely helped me discipline myself to properly learn calligraphy. Disclaimer: you do NOT have to have nice handwriting in order to write beautiful calligraphy, but it's nice to show off with both!   In 2017 I started my business, The Lefty Writer, where weddings and special events are at the core. I have designed wedding invitations, written out engagement and anniversary letters, and even created wedding day signs for those very same couples. On top of that, I have booked multiple Christmas and Valentine's seasons for in-store personalization events AND created calligraphy cards for luxury shop launches and events throughout South Florida. Whew! This girl likes to stay busy!   Finally, I have always had a passion for teaching others. And I can't wait to meet you in the classroom as we Sip & Script together!
