Howdy! My name is Michelle and I recently moved to the Bay Area after 27 years in Austin Texas. I currently work full-time as a manager at a tech company. In my free time, I play badminton and dabble in other kinds of arts & crafts. I purchased an ink and nib set from Barnes & Noble around 2013 and experimented with writing letters to friends like people did back in the 1800s. I then moved to calligraphy soon after and haven't looked back since! I have taken classes in a wide variety of different scripts with broad-edge nibs (Foundational, Roman, Uncial, Gothic, Italic) and pointed-pen nib (Copperplate, Spencerian, and Modern), and love the beauty across all types of hands. While I don't mind doing calligraphy for family and friends, my passion lies more in teaching so I'm able to increase appreciation for this type of art to more people. I'm excited to be part of the Sip & Script family!
