Shanna has loved all things creative since she was little. Growing up, she took as many art classes as possible and would often participate in school art shows and make homemade birthday cards for her whole family. As she went through college she continued to expand her creative side, taking many art classes which would help to build and develop her creative skills.
Shanna discovered her love of calligraphy by chance in 2016 while planning her wedding. Inspired by beautifully written envelopes she saw online, Shanna bought a beginners calligraphy kit and quickly became addicted, practicing every chance she could find. After months of practice, along with devouring online classes and tutorials, she was able to address all of her wedding invitations. Shanna continues to offer a variety of calligraphy services, including envelope addressing, to her clients through Shanna Lyn Calligraphy.
Shanna graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2015 with a degree in Applied Economics and currently works full-time for the Rhode Island Senate Fiscal Office. Shanna still enjoys making homemade birthday cards for her friends and family. She can often be found practicing calligraphy and watercolor painting in her backyard, or wherever the mood strikes her. She loves working on home improvement projects with her husband in their new home and going on paddle boarding adventures with her two pups Jack and Benny.
