This class is for anyone who's never picked up a pen. We teach the basics, and our hope is you leave with ink flowing through your nib and the confidence to keep practicing. Tried it before? It's a great refresher with new supplies from our beginner kit.

Left-handed? You're very welcome. This class is designed with lefties in mind — we teach you to get ink flowing through your nib with confidence, whatever hand you use.

All students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult to our classes.


PLEASE NOTE: Some of our classes are held at 21+ establishments, so please read the class description before purchasing.

We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes before the start time to settle in. Seating is first come, first served within the venue.

I’m Amanda Elliott, and I’m a calligrapher, engraver, and live event artist based in Muscatine, Iowa - though you’ll often find me in Chicago and across the Midwest, creating beautiful moments with pen, ink, and more. I specialize in modern pointed pen calligraphy, engraving, bottle painting, hot foiling, and live fashion illustration through my brand Letters from Elliott. From luxury brand activations with Dior and Burberry to weddings and keepsake commissions, I love bringing a personalized, heirloom-quality touch to every project I take on. What I love most about calligraphy is how it slows time down, turning words into art and ordinary items into meaningful keepsakes. Teaching with Sip & Script lets me share that joy with others in a fun, relaxed setting. Whether you’re a total beginner or just here for the ink and wine, I’m so excited to letter with you soon!
